WHAT IS THE RENTAL HOUSING TRIBUNAL?
- It is a legal body set up by the Eastern Cape Department of Human Settlements to deal with disputes between Landlord and Tenants.
- It has same powers as the magistrate court.
- It provides free service to all the people of the Eastern Cape Province.
- Dispute resolution between landlords and tenants may be in a form of an investigation, mediation and or hearing and is held as close as possible to a point of a complaint.
✽ Who May Lodge A Complaint?

Any tenant or landlord or group of tenants or landlords or interested group in the Eastern Cape may lodge complaints to the Eastern Cape Rental Housing Tribunal.

Be single and have financial dependents constantly living with you.

Single people without financial dependents, such as the aged, people with disabilities and military veterans may be assisted.

Must earn 0-R 3500.
